Finding every face in a group photo
The easy faces are the ones in front. The ones that slip through are reflections in windows, people on a TV or poster in the background, and faces turned half away. Press Find areas with AI with Faces ticked to get boxes on all of them, then zoom through the picture yourself: the finder is a second pair of eyes, not a guarantee.
The face finder never names or recognises anyone. It is asked only for box positions, and the photo is not kept.
Faces are not the only thing that identifies someone

Questions people ask
How do I blur a face in a photo for free?
Open the photo, drag a box over each face with Blur selected, and download. Or press "Find areas with AI", tick Faces, and confirm: boxes appear over every face it finds, which you can adjust before saving.
Does the face finder upload my photo?
Only when you press the button and confirm. A copy scaled down to 1280 pixels is sent to a vision model through Vercel AI Gateway, which returns box coordinates. Blurring itself always happens on your device.
Can I put an emoji over a face instead?
Yes. Choose the Emoji effect and pick one of the six emoji. The area under the emoji is pixelated first, so the face does not show through the transparent corners.
Is a blurred face really anonymous?
Strong blur or large-block pixelation stops people recognising a face, but hair, tattoos, clothing, a name tag or the location can still identify someone. Cover those too if anonymity matters.
Do I need permission to post photos with other people in them?
Rules differ by country. In the EU and UK a recognisable face can be personal data under GDPR, and many schools and employers require blurring children and staff. Blurring faces you do not have consent for is the safe default.
