Introduction
Welcome to BlurShot. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience using our service. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use BlurShot.
Privacy-First Design
TL;DR: We never see your images. All image processing happens entirely in your browser. Your images never leave your device, and we don't collect, store, or transmit them to any server.
What Information We Collect
Images and Files
We do NOT collect your images. When you upload or paste an image into BlurShot:
- Your image is processed entirely in your web browser using HTML5 Canvas API
 - The image is stored temporarily in your browser's memory (RAM) while you edit it
 - Your image is never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers
 - When you close the browser tab or refresh the page, the image is permanently removed from memory
 - We have no access to, visibility of, or control over the images you process

Analytics and Usage Data
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our service. This helps us improve BlurShot. We collect only anonymized, aggregated data including:
- Page views and navigation patterns
 - Device type, browser type, and screen resolution
 - Geographic location (country/region level only, not precise location)
 - Referral sources (how you found BlurShot)
 - Performance metrics (page load times)

Important: We do NOT collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any information about the images you edit.
Cookies and Local Storage
BlurShot uses browser local storage for the following purposes:
- User Preferences: Saving your tool settings (blur intensity, pixel size, etc.)
 - Analytics: Vercel Analytics may use cookies to track anonymous usage patterns

We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking across websites, or profiling users.
How We Use Information
The limited, anonymized data we collect is used solely to:
- Improve the user experience and functionality of BlurShot
 - Monitor and analyze usage trends and patterns
 - Identify and fix technical issues or bugs
 - Understand which features are most valuable to users
 - Ensure our service is working correctly across different devices and browsers

We will NEVER:
- Sell your data to third parties
 - Use your data for advertising purposes
 - Share your data with advertisers or data brokers
 - Track you across other websites or apps
 - Create user profiles or engage in behavioral targeting

Third-Party Services
BlurShot uses the following third-party services:
Vercel (Hosting & Analytics)
Our website is hosted on Vercel, and we use Vercel Analytics for privacy-friendly website analytics. Vercel Analytics collects only anonymized, aggregated data and does not use cookies for tracking. Learn more: Vercel Analytics Privacy
No Other Third Parties
BlurShot does not integrate with any other third-party services, advertising networks, social media trackers, or analytics platforms. Your images are processed entirely client-side with no external API calls.
Data Security
Since we don't collect your images or personal information, there is minimal risk of data breaches involving your content. However, we take the following security measures:
- HTTPS Encryption: All connections to BlurShot are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
 - Client-Side Processing: Images never leave your device, eliminating transmission risks
 - No Server Storage: We don't store images on servers, so they can't be compromised
 - Secure Hosting: Our website is hosted on Vercel's secure infrastructure
 - Regular Updates: We keep our dependencies and code up-to-date with security patches

Important: While BlurShot processes images locally for privacy, you are responsible for securing your own device. Ensure your device has up-to-date security software and that you're using a trusted, secure network when working with sensitive information.
Your Rights
Because we collect minimal data and never store your images, many traditional privacy rights don't apply. However, you have the following controls:
- Opt-Out of Analytics: You can block analytics by using browser extensions like uBlock Origin or by enabling Do Not Track in your browser settings
 - Clear Local Storage: You can clear BlurShot's local storage at any time through your browser's settings (this will reset your preferences)
 - Browser Controls: You can disable cookies and local storage entirely in your browser, though this may affect functionality

Children's Privacy
BlurShot does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Our service is designed to be privacy-first and does not require registration, so we have no way to determine the age of our users. Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of BlurShot.
International Users
BlurShot is accessible globally. Since all image processing happens client-side in your browser, your images never cross international borders via our service. The minimal analytics data we collect is processed by Vercel, which has data centers worldwide and complies with international privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
If we make material changes that significantly affect how we handle data, we will post a prominent notice on our homepage.
