BlurShot is a static website. There are no accounts, no database and no image storage.

Your images

When you open, paste or drop an image, the browser decodes it locally and all blurring, pixelation, boxes, emoji and metadata removal run in JavaScript on your device. The edited image is saved by your browser. We never receive it.

The optional AI area finder

The "Find areas with AI" button is the only feature that sends image data. It does nothing until you press it and confirm in a dialog. Then:

• a copy of the unedited image, scaled to at most 1280 pixels on its longest side and saved as JPEG, is sent to our server function;
• the function forwards it through Vercel AI Gateway to a vision model (currently Google's gemini-3.8-flash) with instructions to return box positions only, and not to describe or identify anyone;
• the box coordinates come back to your browser. We do not log or store the image. Vercel and the model provider process it under their own terms to answer the request.

Don't use the finder for material you are not permitted to share with third parties, such as patient records under HIPAA or client files under confidentiality rules. Draw boxes by hand instead; it works entirely offline.

Stored in your browser

The editor remembers your last strength, fill colour and emoji in localStorage under a key starting with blurshot:. No images or history are kept.

Clear saved settings

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not collect personal data. It never sees your images.
